College attended/Degree/Military Service and what you do now:

I am currently in the Marine Corps while attending USF full-time pursuing my degree in International Studies and French. I have been in the Marine Corps for 11 years and am coaching at BNI because I love the people and atmosphere.

Your athletic background (did you play competitive sports, college sports; your certifications – including what CrossFit certs you have):

I grew up playing water sports. I played water polo in high school. In the military I am a water instructor. I have gained numerous certificates through military training in physical fitness, combat fitness, water fitness and survival, and high intensity tactical training (HITT). I currently hold a level one CrossFit trainer certificate.

How did you find CrossFit?

After my Officer training in 2016 I was looking for something more than my regular run swim run and I saw some friends doing CrossFit in our gym on base. I looked more into it, I attended regionals that year as a spectator and I was hooked!!

Favorite CrossFit move (could be Oly lift, other lift, cardio move, even burpees (if you really love them!))

My favorites are box jumps, wall balls, and running. Favorite benchmark workout is Fran.

CrossFit athlete you would most like to WOD with (and for what reason):

Patrick Vellner because gingers have to stick together! He seems like a fun character, doesn’t quit, and he is humble and friendly with his fans.
