College attended/Degree/Military Service and what you do now

I attended The University of South Florida for my undergraduate studies where I majored in Health Sciences. I am currently attending Nova Southeastern University working towards my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). In addition, I work at an outpatient sports orthopedic clinic in Valrico/Tampa as a technician as I work my way through graduate school.

Your athletic background (did you play competitive sports, college sports; your certifications – including what CrossFit certs you have)

The only sports I took part in through the years were wrestling and shot put (track & field) until I found my love for weightlifting and bodybuilding. I am not a very competitive person by nature so I found a true passion for exercise and fitness. The weight room took over as my main priority as “sport” and I wanted to improve everyday I stepped into the gym.

I currently hold my CF-L1 Certification (Dec. 2018)

?How did you find CrossFit?

In my college years, I met a friend who invited me to his gym to train in a way I have never experienced before. Without hesitation, I gave it a try and discovered the methodology that is CrossFit training. Compound lifts/movements, gymnastics, aerobic training, and measurable improvement in performance via staple workouts… I WAS HOOKED.

Favorite CrossFit move (could be Oly lift, other lift, cardio move, even burpees (if you really love them!))

All about the ring muscle ups and barbell back squat!

CrossFit athlete you would most like to WOD with (and for what reason)

Mat Fraser. In person Mat and I would be very similar in structure (height/weight). It’s the work ethic and mentality that I want to see in action that makes him the true champion of the sport. I also love the Olympic lifting background he has under his belt!
